Luke Weil is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Andina Acquisition Partners, a new Latin American-focused fund vehicle.
Born and raised in New York, Weil earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Brown University in 2002 and his Masters of Business from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business in 2008.
In 2002, Weil began work as an analyst in the investment banking division of Bear, Stearns and Co. In 2004, he moved to Business Strategies & Insight, Inc., where his work focused on the nexus of politics and business, helping corporate clients manage their often complex interactions and relationships with governments domestically and abroad.
In 2006, Luke Weil left BSI to return to school and matriculated at Columbia’s Graduate School of Business, where he received his MBA. After graduating in 2008, Weil went to work for Scientific Games Corporation(SG), a diversified gaming company and a market leader in lottery products and services, where he most recently served as Vice President of International Development for Latin American regions.
In 2013, Weil was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Andina Acquisition Corporation, a blank check company organized for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition or other similar business combination with one or more businesses or entities. Luke Weil had been a member of the Board of Directors since 2011.
Luke Weil engages in a wide range of entrepreneurial and investing activities in addition to his work at Scientific Games. He is a partner in LW Air, an aviation holding and leasing company managed by Avantair and sits on the board of directors for Interactive Commerce Corp., an ecommerce and digital media company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. Weil is a lead investor for tech startup SkuRun, whose mobile application brings up-to-date product information to B2B sales representatives in real time.
Weil is an active member of the board of the Fortune Society, a New York-based nonprofit service organization and advocacy group and is the Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder of Rios Nete, which supports a range of charitable activities in the Amazon rainforest. Weil has also partnered with The Surfrider Foundation and Concerned Citizens of Montauk to spearhead a grassroots effort for local clean water sustainability.
